Collocated FRFs

Previous Up Next

Question What is a collocated transfer function ?

Answer Collocated transfer functions, also called driving point FRFs or impedance, are transfer functions where the applied force and measured displacement are such that the product force by velocity is the power input to the structure.

Collocated measurements are needed to obtained scaled modeshapes based on the reciprocity assumption. Read manual section 3.4 (doc idrm) for more details.
