MIMO tests

Previous Up Next

Question Can the SDT deal with multi-input, multi-output problems?

Answer Yes.

The SDT first processes MIMO tests with just the assumption that poles are common to each test. If the test is MIMO, the residue (whan using idcom the residue is a row of IIres) corresponds to a residue matrix
[ Rj ] = { cyj } { yjTb }

The id_rm function (illustrated in demo_id) allows to separate the modal observability
{ cyj }
(often called modeshape) and
{ yjTb }
controlability (often called participation factor). It also allows to estimate the coherence of the result with the assumption that there is only one mode.

This approach is unsual in the litterature, so you may want to read manual section 3.4 (doc idrm) and/or download a paper on the subject for additional details.
